Spring Hydrant Flushing

Middlebury: Water mains will be flushed and hydrants tested starting Monday, May 5, 2008 through Friday, May 9, 2008, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Naugatuck/Indian Hills Section: Water mains will be flushed and hydrants tested starting Monday, May 12, 2008, through Friday, May 16, 2008, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The flushing procedure ensures cleaner, better tasting water and that all hydrants are in proper working order.  Some water discoloration may take place after hydrant flushing.  By running the tap for a short period of time, discoloration may be eliminated.  Please check the condition of your water before using washing machines, dishwashers or other water-using devices.
