Connecticut Water Completes Sale of 178 Acres of Open Space Land to the Town of Plymouth Connecticut

The Connecticut Water Company, a regulated water utility subsidiary of Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTWS), today announced that it has completed the previously announced sale of 178 acres of open space land, including a 39 acre former reservoir, to the Town of Plymouth, Connecticut. The property, which is referred to as the Plymouth Reservoir Property, had once been used as a water supply source–but is no longer needed for that purpose.

Shareholders of Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ GS:CTWS) overwhelmingly reelected two directors and ratified the Audit Committee’s selection of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as independent auditors for 2012, at the Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders held on May 10, 2012, in Westbrook, Connecticut.

Connecticut Water Service, Inc. Reports First-Quarter Earnings

Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ GS: CTWS) announced income of $1.9 million, or $0.22 per basic common share, on total revenues of $20.2 million in the first quarter of 2012. This was a decrease of $358,000, or $0.04 per basic common share, on total revenues of $17.5 million recorded in the first quarter of 2011. Total revenues include all revenues generated by the Company’s three business segments: Water Activities, Services and Rentals, and Real Estate.

Shenipsit Lake Recreation Program Opens Saturday, April 21

The Connecticut Water Company and the Shenipsit Lake Association (SLA) announce that boats will be accepted at the Lake Shenipsit boat storage area located on Ellington Road in Tolland beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, for those who wish to use their boats in the Shenipsit Lake Recreation program this season.

Connecticut Water to replace 96 Year Old Water Main on Boston Post Road in Westbrook

The Connecticut Water Company (Connecticut Water) today announced that work has begun a $1 million water main replacement project on the Boston Post Road in Westbrook. Beginning in mid-April, Connecticut Water will begin replacing about 3,300 feet of nearly 100 year old 10-inch water main with 12 inch ductile iron water main between Route 153 (near the Town Green) and Water’s Edge Resort and Spa.
