Connecticut Water’s Peter Pezanko Named Connecticut Director of

New England Water Works Association

CLINTON, CONNECTICUT – September 20, 2007 – Peter Pezanko, special project manager for the New England Water Utility Services division of The Connecticut Water Company, was recently elected to a two-year term as the Connecticut Director of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA). 

Pezanko has 30 years of experience in the drinking water industry in Connecticut.  He began his career with the Crystal Water Company in Danielson, Conn., and has been with Connecticut Water Company since it purchased Crystal in 1999.  He is a member of NEWWA and the American Water Works Association (AWWA), and has served on the Connecticut Section – AWWA Sports Committee, and is a past Treasurer of the Connecticut Water Works Association.  

“Over the years, I’ve measurably benefited from the wealth of information and training made available by NEWWA,” said Pezanko.  “I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with NEWWA as the Connecticut Director and continue to expand on those important offerings.”

 At Connecticut Water, Pezanko is project manager of the operation, management and maintenance contract with the University of Connecticut.  His responsibilities include the oversight of the operation, management and maintenance of the university’s three public water systems located in the Storrs/Mansfield area.   

 A resident of Putnam, Conn., Pezanko is a licensed Class II Water Distribution System Operator, as well as a licensed Class II Water Treatment Plant Operator. He attended Eastern Connecticut State University and Quinebaug Valley Community College.    

Based in Holliston, Mass., New England Water Works Association works to improve public drinking water supplies, protect public health and safety, and promote the professional development and education of about 3,000 members in the water works field.

The New England Water Works Association is a section of the American Water Works Association, the world’s largest organization of water works professionals.
