Around the state, we are engaged in construction projects. We are either working to upgrade our infrastructure or expanding our service area to bring drinking water to new parts of the state.
Current Projects
Connecticut Water will invest over $75 million in 2026 on water treatment, storage and distribution infrastructure projects throughout the state.
The company’s water mains span more than 1,850 miles in Connecticut, and some are older than 100 years. Our goal is to replace 1% of our water mains annually.

Thomaston - South Main Street Water Main
About the project: Connecticut Water will replace about 4,000 feet of existing pipe with 12” ductile iron pipe. This project will increase available water flow to the area and improve system reliability. Four fire hydrants will be replaced, along with 58 service connections.
Location: South Main Street (SR 254) from Meadow Street to Stevens Boulevard, Thomaston

Chester - West Main Street Water Main
About the project: Connecticut Water will replace about 4,000 feet of existing pipe with 12” ductile iron pipe. This project will increase available water flow to the area and improve system reliability and fire protection. Five fire hydrants will be replaced as part of the project, along with connections to 32 homes and businesses.

Killingly - Wauregan Road (Route 12) water main
About the project: Connecticut Water will install about 9,300 feet of 12-inch pipe to connect our Crystal Water System with our Plainfield Water system. This project will increase available water supply and improve system reliability for all customers in the Killingly and Plainfield area.
Location: Wauregan Road (Route 12) from Taos Drive to Siri Wire.
