About the Project:
Connecticut Water will be replacing approximately 5,000 feet, or about one mile, of old water main along South Main Street (Route 5) in the area between Thompson Road and Tromley Road.
The week of August 28th we will be working South Water Street which may have a greater impact on traffic. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. East Windsor police officers will be on site for traffic control. There will be no construction work from 9/1 to 9/5 because of the Labor Day holiday.
Customers living on these streets will receive information in the mail from Connecticut Water about the water main replacement project schedule and advance notification of any planned water service interruptions.
This project is being done through Connecticut Water’s Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). Systematically replacing aging pipes is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable supply of high quality drinking water and world-class service to customers. This project will help us to conserve water, a precious natural resource, by replacing old pipe that is more likely to leak underground than newer ductile iron pipe.
