Connecticut Water's Dan Lesnieski
Receives Award

CLINTON, CONNECTICUT – June 20, 2007 – Dan Lesnieski,
senior engineer at The Connecticut Water Company, was recently
presented with the New England Water Works Association’s
Water Works State Leadership Award. The award recognizing
his outstanding leadership and his contributions to the
advancement of excellence in the water works profession
was presented at the Joint Conference of the Connecticut
Section American Water Works Association (CTAWWA) and the
Connecticut Water Works Association (CWWA) in Lake George,
New York.
A 24-year employee of Connecticut Water, Lesnieski has
been a member of the American Water Works Association for
20 years. He is a past CTAWWA Chairman and is current co-chair
of the organization’s program committee, and has served
on at least seven CTAWWA committees. In addition, his accomplishments
include starting the Water for People golf tournament 13
years ago which raises $15,000 annually to help people in
developing countries run their own potable drinking water
systems. He also helped organize the first Annual Technical
Conference and Vendor Expo (ATCAVE) in 1996, which is currently
attended by more than 600 people each year. T
he American Water Works Association (AWWA) is an international
nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to
the improvement of drinking water quality and supply. The
Connecticut Section – AWWA has about 700 members representing
more than 60 utilities that supply water to approximately
3,000,000 Connecticut residents.
A resident of Windsor Locks, Conn., Lesnieski earned a
bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering
from the University of New Haven.
