South Windsor Water Tank
Construction for the second, 2.3 million gallon
tank in South Windsor is complete. After an inspection by the Connecticut
Department of Public Health, the tank began serving customers in
late July 2007.
The new tank serves as a back up to the existing
tank (built in 1964). This ensures the area will have adequate supply
for fire protection or another water emergency, or if one of the
tanks is out of service for routine maintenance.
The tank will provide additional storage to
meet the growing needs of South Windsor, Ellington, East Windsor
and Vernon.
