About the Project:
Four water main replacement projects are scheduled in Ellington.
- High Ridge Road - 1,200 feet of 60+ year old water main has been replaced.
- Ellington Avenue - 1,850 feet of nearly 100 year old water main will be replaced. The project does not yet have a start date.
- Middle Butcher Road - 1,400 feet of 60+ year old water main has been replaced.
Connecticut Water will use door tags to directly notify customers that may be affected in the area at least 24 hours in advance if there is any planned disruption in water service.
The projects will be done through Connecticut Water’s Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). Systematically replacing aging pipes is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable supply of high quality drinking water and world-class service to customers. This project will help us to conserve water, a precious natural resource, by replacing old pipe that is more likely to leak underground than newer ductile iron pipe.
