Killingly (Main Street)
About the Project:
All water main installation work has been completed. Permanent paving of about 1,500 feet of the excavated trench remains to be completed.
Work hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We expect to have our work completed by late June. The CT DOT will mill and overlay the road with asphalt from curb to curb after our work is completed.
Overall, this project involved replacing about 3,000 feet, or more one-half mile of water main along Route 12, Main Street, between Water Street and Westcott Road.
This project is being done through Connecticut Water’s Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). Systematically replacing aging pipes is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable supply of high quality drinking water and world-class service to customers. This project will help us to conserve water, a precious natural resource, by replacing old pipe that is more likely to leak underground than newer ductile iron pipe.
