Vernon - Merline Rd
About the Project:
Connecticut Water replaced 7,100 feet, or 1.3 miles, of water main on several streets including: Merline Road, between Talcottville Road and Hartford Turnpike.
The 12” water main and all hydrants have been installed and are in service, and lawn restoration has been completed.
Permanent paving of the road has also been completed by the town of Vernon.
This project was done through Connecticut Water’s Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). Systematically replacing aging pipes is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable supply of high quality drinking water and world-class service to customers. This project will help us to conserve water, a precious natural resource, by replacing old pipe that is more likely to leak underground than newer ductile iron pipe
