Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTWS) (“Connecticut Water”) today announced that it has reached an agreement with Connecticut Fund for the Environment (“CFE”) to provide additional environmental safeguards that will take effect with the closing of Connecticut Water’s previously announced combination with SJW Group (NYSE: SJW), which is expected in the first quarter of 2019. The agreement includes provisions related to water company lands, potential recreation programs and continued responsible water resource management.
Second District U.S. Representative Joe Courtney visited Connecticut Water’s water main replacement project in the Heritage Woods neighborhood of Tolland this week. Congressman Courtney’s visit focused on the infrastructure investments being made by the company in its water systems to enhance reliability and water quality, the work of the skilled men and women in the construction trades who build these systems, the local jobs created by that investment, and the coordination of the project with town road projects.

Connecticut Water Service, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTWS) today announced that it has filed definitive proxy materials with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and is mailing a letter to shareholders in connection with the Special Meeting of Connecticut Water Shareholders to vote on the previously announced transaction with SJW Group (NYSE: SJW). The Connecticut Water Service Board of Directors unanimously recommends that shareholders “go green” and vote “FOR” the proposal to approve the SJW Group merger agreement as well as all other proposals related to the SJW Group transaction on the GREEN proxy card. Importantly, not voting has the same effect as a vote against the transaction.
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the Connecticut Critical Infrastructure 2018 Annual Report, a comprehensive review the state’s electric, natural gas, and large water companies’ efforts to detect and prevent cybersecurity threats. The report stated that while Connecticut’s utilities faced more frequent and sophisticated penetration attempts in the past year, they were met with “adequate defense capabilities.”
