THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
In response to Governor Lamont’s ‘Stay Safe, Stay Home’ executive order issued on March 20, 2020, Connecticut Water has suspended all non-emergency construction activity until further notice. This includes water main replacement projects and other planned capital improvements. Our personnel will continue to perform essential construction activity, such as the repair of water main breaks that are needed to continue to provide a reliable supply of safe drinking water to customers and the community.
Connecticut Water is installing 2.1 miles of new water main along a portion of Taos Drive, south along Route 12 to Blueberry Lane in Plainfield. The project started the week of March 2 on Taos Drive and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new water main will replace a vital pipeline between a water supply source and the distribution system that serves customers. The current water supply, or transmission line, which runs through a remote area, would complicate repair efforts if the pipe were to break. The new water main will eventually connect the company’s water systems in Plainfield and Danielson and provide additional system resilience.
