Vernon - Rockville

About the Project:

Connecticut Water is replacing about 3,000 feet, or more than one-half mile, of old water main in two separate projects.

  • East Main Street between Snipsic Street and Ann Street - about 1,500 feet of nearly 120 year old water main will be replaced.
  • West Main Street and Union Street - about 1,400 feet of nearly 120 year old water main will be replaced. This project started in early June. Construction activity is currently focused on West Main Street between Vernon Avenue and Union Street. Only local traffic is allowed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

More details on the West Main Street project in the news release that was issued on May 31, 2019.

Connecticut Water will use door tags to directly notify customers that may be affected in the area at least 24 hours in advance if there is any planned disruption in water service.

This project will be done through Connecticut Water’s Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). Systematically replacing aging pipes is part of our continuing effort to provide a reliable supply of high quality drinking water and world-class service to customers. This project will help us to conserve water, a precious natural resource, by replacing old pipe that is more likely to leak underground than newer ductile iron pipe.
